  • Plug one end of the 3ft. Micro USB cord into the USB-NES unit and the other end into any port on the USB hub. Be sure to switch the port on the hub connected to USB-NES Lite to OFF for now.
  • Plug the USB Thumbdrive into a free port on the USB hub.
  • (2-player set only) Plug 1 or 2 USB NES gamepads into the USB hub.
  • (Wireless set only) Plug the wireless dongle into the USB hub.
  • Insert an NES cart into the USB-NES Lite unit.
  • Connect the USB hub to the host computer with type A port. If you require a USB-C or micro USB-OTG host connection, connect the USB hub to the OTG adapter first.
  • Switch all ports on the USB hub ON. This should mount both the USB-NES virtual drive, as well as the thumbdrive on the host.
  • In the root directory of the thumbdrive you will find an executable to run the NES emulator.
  • To configure the emulator for the gamepad, go to the emulator’s Config menu, and select Input. From the Input Configuration console, select the dropdown menu in the Port 1 section and select Gamepad. From there, click the Configure button to expose the virtual gamepad map console. Click on any virtual button that resembles the actual one on gamepad 1 and then tap the corresponding gamepad button twice to register that mapping. Repeat this step for all desired gamepad buttons.
  • To load the ROM, go to the emulator’s File menu; select open ROM, navigate to the USB-NES drive, and open ROM.NES. Your game will load off the cart and then start. Use the gamepad to play the game.
  • (Wireless set only) The gamepad will automatically turn ON when any button on it is pressed while the USB dongle is active on the host, and also turns OFF after a brief period of inactivity.
  • Use the switch on the USB hub to switch the power for the USB-NES Lite off and then on again when changing cart media, or when re-mounting the USB-NES to the host.
